Cha Cha Slide

This is a fun dance that practices the direction words that the kids have been learning in class.

The homework is to play the video, and dance along with the instructions. We did it two times in class today, so the kids should know what to do! To verify that your child has done it, please make a comment about their dancing in the Boomerang Book.
(Example: John had fun dancing. He might need to practice right and left a little more though.)

Here's the link to YouTube if the video doesn't work:

We encourage the parents to dance along too!
Have fun! :)

Recycle and Re-Use!

As we continue to talk about materials during science, we are starting to explore all the possibilities of recycling and re-using "old" materials to make new, usable things.

To prepare for art time this Friday, we are asking the students to think of, and collect, some materials that they can recycle and re-use to create something with a new purpose.

For example, creating a bird house out of a used milk carton. Or decorating an old food container to be used as a pen and pencil holder. The options are endless with a creative mind :)
Please help your child to collect some items, and bring them in by Friday. We will provide all the other supplies, such as glue, paint, scissors, etc.

Here are some websites to visit with more creative ideas:
